Are Service Businesses Better than Product Businesses? Part 2

Why are most business ideas product-based?

I have watched Shark Tank for years and seldom spot a services or consulting business.

There are several reasons for this.

I think products are usually more associated with disruptive innovation and hyper-growth.

But I think the main reason is the hype that surrounds entrepreneurship and tech startups.

The impression most people have is that cool, VC-backed, Silicon Valley startups are all product-based.

As a result, service businesses have become underrated.

But for those who pay attention, there is a gem of potential in services.

Last week, I covered the first 5 differences between these two types of businesses. In this week’s live stream, I’ll cover another 5 differences to show you how you can start a services business and turn your current skills into a revenue stream.

Feras has founded, grown, and sold businesses in Silicon Valley and abroad, scaling them from zero revenue to 7 and 8 figures. In 2019, he sold e-Nor, a digital marketing consulting company, to dentsu (a top-5 global media company). Feras has served as an advisor to 150+ other new startup businesses, and in his current venture, Start Up With Feras, he's on a mission to help entrepreneurs in the consulting and services space start and grow their businesses smarter and stronger.
