You Can’t Sell WITHOUT Authority and Empathy
It is frustrating to work hard to get leads only to see them drop out of the sales cycle. I know from my own bitter experiences.
In the early days of my own consulting business, I used to struggle to close even small $500 dollar a month contracts. But after I realized the issue – failure to communicate with the right combination of authority and empathy – my team and I started closing long-term 5-digit retainers.
Being an expert or a people person is not enough to close deals. You have to be able to 1) communicate your expertise and 2) understand and speak meaningfully to your lead’s needs.
